Marine specialist SeaRoc teams up with HSEQ Experts

Leaders in offshore wind power development join forces to support offshore projects in Europe.

SeaRoc Group Ltd and HSEQ Experts GmbH have completed a collaboration agreement to provide a combined service offering to help support the construction and operation of offshore wind farms in Germany and other European markets. The two companies have been working together since March 2014 and this agreement formalizes their existing arrangement.

SeaRoc and HSEQ Experts have highly complementary competencies and capabilities, with both organisations having significant experience of offshore wind construction projects. Working together, the two companies will use their combined skills and knowledge to deliver an enhanced suite of services. The initial focus of the collaboration will be to provide offshore wind farm construction support services in such areas as marine construction management, marine coordination and quality control.

This collaborative venture is led by SeaRoc’s principal engineering advisor Nick Murphy, who possesses significant experience in delivering international offshore renewable energy projects. Likewise, HSEQ ExpertsGeschäftsführender Gesellschafter/CEO, Bodo Lehwald, is a highly experienced HSE Professional and company director.  The two companies will utilize both English- and German-speaking specialists to deliver these services with support provided by SeaRoc’s SeaPlanner marine management software, which has been successfully deployed on more than 20 offshore renewable energy projects to date in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Under the terms of the partnership, HSEQ Experts will support SeaRoc in the delivery of other contracting packages, such as the supply of temporary power generation for offshore projects in Germany through the provision of local personnel and HSE support to ensure that SeaRoc’s systems are compliant with German legislation. 1

“SeaRoc has been operating in the offshore wind sector since 2002, and the company has built up an enviable track record in delivery across the development, construction and operation phases,” said David Wotherspoon, operations director at SeaRoc. “Our expertise — combined with HSEQ Expert’s knowledge and experience of the German offshore wind market, applicable legislation and industry requirements — provides a very significant offering to the sector.”

Bodo Lehwald, Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter/CEO, HSEQ Experts GmbH, sees great potential in the combined services of HSEQ Experts and SeaRoc. “We are happy to be able to offer this service to our existing and future clients in the German and European offshore wind sector,” Lehwald stated.
