Vergnet launches wind turbine O&M service for the UK market

Goal is to provide Vergnet’s customers with a full after-sales service and offer better security for business planning and control of expenditure and performance.

For Vergnet, which boasts a 25-year track record working with developers worldwide, the announcement comes at a time of growth for the medium wind energy company. With more than 20 wind projects in the UK, Vergnet has installed medium scale wind turbines to date on farms in Cornwall, Leicester, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Suffolk, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The dedicated UK operations and maintenance service will provide Vergnet’s customers with a full after-sales service while offering additional benefits, such as better security for business planning and control of expenditure and performance.

Diana Popa, Vergnet’s UK spokesperson, commented on the announcement, which was made at the All Energy 2014 Conference in Aberdeen, Scotland, this week. The addition of O&M services, she said, was a natural transition for the company. "For over 20 years, Vergnet has been a partner of choice for developers worldwide and with a growing record of success in the UK. Effective O&M services are an extremely important consideration for developers of medium wind projects, and the right service will help to manage costs, reduce downtime and maximise profit throughout the lifetime of the project."

While Vergnet has always been committed to offering a full package of O&M services for all our projects, Popa notes, "this next step of opening a dedicated service in the UK allows us to deliver this service in closer proximity to a growing number of turbines sited throughout the UK.”

Vergnet’s medium-scale wind turbines are used for wind energy projects from 200 to 500kW, with a broad range of options depending on site conditions. Vergnet works with its partners and developers in the UK to develop turnkey medium wind energy projects, including site feasibility, planning, finance, installation, commissioning, FiT registration, and a full package of warranties and after sales service.
