Yves Rannou appointed senior vice president of Alstom Wind

Fifteen-year Alstom veteran will oversee all activities related to onshore and offshore wind.

Rannou, who will serve as a member of the executive committee of Alstom Renewable Power, will be based in Barcelona. He succeeds Alfonso Faubel, who became senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Global Power Sales (GPS) organization for both the Thermal and Renewable Power sectors of Alstom. Rannou will report to Jérôme Pécresse, president of Alstom Renewable Power.

During his long career at Alstom, Rannou has held a series of positions that have progressively strengthened his project management expertise. He started working at Alstom in 1997 as a local representative and division manager in Thailand. In 2001, he was appointed project director for Korea and Indonesia. Rannou went on to serve roles as diverse as quality director for Alstom’s hydo business, to Deputy General Director of pump-turbine activities within the branch in charge of Alstom’s hydro activities, to head of project execution for hydro in Southern Europe. Other positions included stints as project director for global structural projects in the power sector and managing director of Alstom Hydro industry in China.
 
Rannou holds a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at UPMC in Paris and an engineering degree from the ESTP. He also obtained 6 Sigma Black Belt certification as well as a diploma from INSEAD-AMS.
