Ampere Equity Fund buys 90% of 51 MW of wind farms in Germany

Ampere Equity Fund, managed by Triodos Investment Management, has acquired 90% of four onshore wind farms from DunoAir totalling 51 MW and an option to buy an additional wind farm with a capacity of 12.6 MW.

The four wind farms in Germany have been developed by the Dutch developer DunoAir, and have become operational in the period 2007 until 2011. All the wind farms consists of Enercon E82 and E70 wind turbines, with a capacity of respectively 2 MW and 2.3 MW.

The 51 MW portfolio produces approximately 131 GWh per annum. DunoAir will remain involved in the portfolio as commercial and technical manager of the wind farms, and also as shareholder of the remaining 10%.

Joris van der Geest, Chief Investment Officer Ampere Equity Fund, says: “This is the Fund’s third investment in German wind farms with a total capacity of 112.5 MW and options to expand to over 140 MW. Germany on shore wind is a substantial part of our portfolio of renewable energy assets spread over the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands.”
