Siemens installs 1 MWp PV plant in Italy

Siemens Energy has built a 1 MWp photovoltaic (PV) plant north of Naples, Italy, for the bottled water company Ferrarelle under a deal worth €5 million.

The solar power plant was connected to the grid at the end of December 2008. As EPC contractor, Siemens was responsible for project management, including engineering and plant construction.

The plant consists of 4554 multicrystalline solar PV panels attached to a prefabricated lightweight aluminium structures and set under an angle of 30°, facing south. The overall plant covers approximately 16,000 m2.
