Vestas to deliver over 2.2 GW of wind turbines

Vestas has entered agreements with EDP Renováveis and four Chinese power producers for the delivery of up to 2298 MW of wind turbines.

The agreement with EDP Renováveis is for an initial supply, installation and commissioning of 1.5 GW worth of wind turbines in North and South America and Europe in 2011 and 2012.

There is also the option for extending the agreement for an additional 600 MW of wind turbines exercisable in 2010 and 2011.

Vestas has also received four orders from unnamed Chinese independent power producers for wind turbines totalling 198 MW.

Vestas will deliver 116 of its V52 wind turbines rated at 850 kW, and 50 of its V90 wind turbines rated at 1.8/2.0 MW for the Guangdong and Shandong provinces respectively.

The agreements include wind turbine delivery, transportation, installation and commissioning, a VestasOnline SCADA solution as well as a five year service and maintenance agreement.

Delivery is scheduled for Q2 and Q3 of 2010.
