West Coast Energy enters renewable micro-generation market

Wind energy developer West Coast Energy Ltd and micro-generation energy company Ensign Energy Ltd have formed a joint venture (JV) for renewable micro-generation projects in the UK.

The JV, Ensign Energy (West Coast) Ltd, is an MCS (Micro-generation Certification Scheme) accredited installer of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal heating, air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. It will shortly also be accredited to install wind turbines.

West Coast Energy CEO Gerry Jewson says: “We at West Coast Energy see this as an exciting opportunity for both companies, combining West Coast Energy’s financial strength and expertise in the wind sector with Ensign’s technical expertise in micro renewables. We are very impressed with Ensign Energy’s technical expertise and customer focus and look forward to a working with them to grow the business.”
