MTI Micro CEO to speak at 2010 CES panel on mobile power this week

Peng K. Lim of MTI MicroFuel Cells will be among several portable power experts participating in a panel discussion at this week’s 2010 CES consumer technology trade show in Las Vegas. The panel will discuss solutions to the growing demand for portable power by using advanced micro fuel cell technologies for mobile devices.

‘We look forward to sharing the advancements our Mobion® micro fuel cell platform has made at the preeminent event for innovation in consumer electronics,’ says Peng Lim, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of MTI MicroFuel Cells. ‘This discussion provides a great start to 2010 for the company, as we work towards a product launch later this year.’

Lim will participate in the 2010 CES Emerging Technology Knowledge Track session, ‘Power to the People: Advances in Charging and Battery Technology’, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm PST on Friday, January 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall.

Panelists will discuss portable power technologies including micro fuel cells, solid-state ceramic batteries, solar panels, and wireless (inductive) charging. as well as potential future innovations.

MTI Micro – a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Inc, based in Albany, New York – is developing off-grid power sources for portable electronics using its patented Mobion® direct methanol fuel cell technology platform. The compact Mobion platform uses 100% methanol as its energy source and has a reduced parts count, offering higher energy density than competing fuel cell technologies for portable electronic devices.
