Ray Burgess, president of Draker, passes

Career arc spanned 30 years, including leadership experience in the technology industry, spanning semiconductors, software and micro-mechanical systems.

Burgess passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

“We are deeply saddened to have lost such a passionate and dedicated member of our leadership team,” said Chach Curtis, CEO of Draker, a leading provider of performance monitoring and control solutions for the solar PV industry. "Ray was a colleague, mentor and friend to many of us at Draker and the Austin cleantech community. He will be greatly missed.”

Burgess joined Draker as president in August of 2012, when the company merged with Solar Power Technologies, Inc., the company he co-founded with Jeff Williams in 2009. He brought more than 30 years of global leadership experience in the technology industry, spanning semiconductors, software and micro-mechanical systems. His leadership helped guide the development and commercialization of Draker’s integrated Clarity DC analytics and Intelligent Array™ software.

Prior to joining Draker, Burgess worked for several companies, including TeraVicta Technologies, Tao Group, Freescale Semiconductor, Motorola and Texas Instruments.
