Trina Solar to supply 36MW for Chilean project

Upon completion, the installation is expected to generate approximately 97,000 MWh of solar electricity annually.

The 36MW project will entail the installation of Trina Solar's TSM-PC14 module, which is IEC certified to 1,000V and is ideal for large-scale installations in areas prone to high temperatures and dry conditions. Trina Solar expects to complete the shipment in the second quarter of 2014.

Zhiguo Zhu, president of Trina Solar's module business unit, said the company's penetration into Chile's solar market also supports its market diversification strategy. "Trina Chile's vast desert with abundant solar resources creates significant potential for solar energy," he said. "We are enthusiastic about the prospects for solar energy in Chile and look forward to increasing our supply of modules to support the local solar industry,"
