Pair of Trina Solar PV projects connected to UK grid

PV power plants boast a total capacity of 23.77 MW.

The plants, which are located in Cornwall and Dorset, commenced construction in December 2013 and were completed on schedule in March 2014. The two projects were developed using Trina PC05A 255Wp modules and will receive 1.6 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs), equivalent to GBP 42.02 per MWh.

According to Trina Solar -- an investor sole project developer for these projects -- the plants will have the effect of  reducing more than 16,542 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and will be able to supply clean energy to approximately 7,477 local homes each year.

Jifan Gao, chairman and CEO of Trina Solar, views the UK as a high-growth market for solar. "Along with the growth potential in the UK market, Europe remains a major market for Trina Solar -- both in terms of modules and downstream projects," he said. "We will continue to build our project pipeline in UK in the quarters ahead as we execute our global downstream strategy."
