Lightsource Renewable Energy launches new division

'Lightsource Commercial Rooftops' venture created to help turn UK rooftops into solar power stations.

The launch of Lightsource Commercial Rooftops supports the UK Government’s stated ‘Solar Strategy’ which offers small businesses significant savings of up to 20 per cent on their energy bills, in line with the Government’s own objective to focus on opening up the solar market for the UK’s estimated 250,000 hectares of south facing commercial rooftops.

How it works: Businesses will even be able to opt for a rooftop installation fully funded by Lightsource, at no cost to them, and still make a saving of up to 20 per cent on their energy bills. Figures from the ONS show that energy and water bills cost businesses over £60 billion a year. By opting for a Lightsource Commercial Rooftop installation, businesses will save money as well as helping to provide greener energy.

“Through our new division, we will truly be able to turn rooftops into power stations in line with the Government’s ambitions,” said Nick Boyle, CEO for Lightsource Renewable Energy.“Not only is it environmentally sound for businesses to have PV systems installed on the rooftops, but it also makes good business sense as they’ll significantly reduce their overall expenditure on energy.”
