Zayed Future Energy Prize open for renewable energy nominations

The US$2.2 million Zayed Future Energy Prize awarded every year for innovation, long-term vision and leadership in renewable energy and technologies is open for nominations until 16 October 2009.

The Zayed Future Energy Prize is supported by Masdar and will be awarded on 19 January 2010 at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. The renewable energy prize is worth a total of US$2.2m with US$1.5m going to the winner and US$350,000 each for up to two finalists.

The award is open to any individual, company or non-governmental organisation (NGO) that can demonstrate a tangible clean energy solution.

The Zayed Future Energy Prize was launched in 2008 by His Highness General Sheik Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed forces of the United Arab Emirates.
