UK-based renewable energy developer RES announces entry into German market

RES cites potential in Germany’s thriving wind pwer sector.

RES's new office, based in Stuttgart, Germany, has been fully operational since the beginning of December. Since that time, RES has been engaged in discussions with several German stakeholders.

“Germany’s wind sector, both on and offshore, holds a great deal of potential for RES," said Dr Frank Finzel, general manager of the new subsidiary. RES Deutschland GmbH. "It is with this in mind that we are investing in the region and opening a first local office in Stuttgart.”

According to Finzel, RES hopes to be a significant player in the next development phase of Germany’s energy landscape. In particular, the recent changes to the renewable energy law (EEG) have further encouraged RES to play an active role in the future of German renewable energy.
