Under the terms of the agreement, Alstom will supply 4 ECO110 wind turbines, along with 25 ECO 122 turbines. Alstom will also provide 10 years of service and maintenance for the project, located near Lorenzo and Ralls, Texas.
Construction of the Fiber Winds project is scheduled to begin mid-year 2014, with commercial operations expected to start in 2015. Longer term (over the course of 30 years following the start of commercial operations), Fiber Winds Energy is expected to pay $39 million in wind royalties to local landowners and community investors.
Tri Global Energy recently acquired 100 per cent ownership of Fiber Winds and will take on the role of plant operator.
