Organic Energy launches 'green' heating classes

Training programme geared for UK-based plumbers and heating engineers specialising in renewable heating and hot water systems.

The introductory 2014 training schedule is as follows: 23 January,  27 February, 27 March, 15 May, 19 June, 17 July, 21 August, 18 September, 23 October, and 20 November. All the courses will be held at Organic Energy's training centre and purpose-built showroom in Welshpool, Mid Wales.

According to Organic Energy, the launch of the green heating training programme is a reflection of the growing demand for cleaner energy in the UK. The company cited research that shows the UK Government is expecting to see 750,000 renewable heat installations completed by 2020. Furthermore, the 2014 Renewable Heat Incentive for domestic properties is being introduced, making it financially attractive for householders, especially those off gas-grid, to install alternative systems, such as wood pellet boilers.

At the same time, Organic Energy notes, there is an industry-wide concern about whether there are enough installers sufficiently qualified to carry out the installations of these systems. Hence the need to ensure  installers have the competency and expertise needed to properly install and maintain renewable energy systems, the company stated.
