Ingeteam exhibits turbine tech at EWEA

Ingeteam plans to exhibit its range of electrical equipment up to 10 MW for wind turbines at EWEA Offshore 2013, the world’s largest offshore wind energy conference

At the event, which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany from 19-21 November, Ingeteam will be featuring a power converter with components such as a Power Stack, a Basic Power Module (BPM) and control electronics.

The components are part of its new low and medium voltage converter range which are based on the semiconductor parallelization for certain power values (especially for low voltage) and on the smart parallelization of several conversion lines (especially for medium voltage). Both allow a complete redundant system solution (Power System, Power Supply, CCU and others). The range is also are completely modular and can be used for different project and application requirements. With output powers ranging from 3 MW to 10 MW, the medium voltage converters are suitable for the offshore market.

The equipment has high power density (kW/m3) and compatibility, low package IGBTs for low voltage components and high package IGBT modules for medium voltage components. The medium voltage products offering power stack options based on number of BPMs per cabinet. Additionally, several conversion lines can be used for power increase for the whole converter solution.

Ingeteam will also be exhibiting its range of control electronics. The Converter Control Unit (CCU) is a programmable electronic device with different analogue/digital outputs and input and communication channels. It manages and controls the frequency converter’s operation by regulating the power flow between the generator and the grid.
