Siemens opens wind training centre in Germany

Siemens has opened a wind power training centre in Bremen, Germany, for customer personnel and wind turbine service technicians.

“We see services as much more than a regular look into the nacelle. And precisely because we attach such importance to service, we have decided to set up a training centre for our service team here in Bremen,” says René Umlauft, CEO of the Renewable Energy Division at Siemens Energy. “Here we also want to give our customers the opportunity to have their personnel trained in line with the latest developments.”

The training will focus on technology and operational reliability, and participants will work on the original nacelle of a Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbine under “virtually realistic conditions”.
