Strategic alliance between Access Intelligence and Hannover Fairs USA supports power generation events

Hannover Fairs USA to host international pavilions at 2014 Electric Power and RETECH Shows

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] Access Intelligence, a leading worldwide information and marketing company providing business intelligence and integrated marketing solutions across a wide variety of global market sectors, announced a strategic alliance with Hannover Fairs USA at this week’s RETECH 2013 Conference in Washington, D.C. Terms of the deal call for Access Intelligence and Hannover Fairs USA to produce international pavilions on their Electric Power and RETECH show floors as well as contribute new, relevant content to the respective conference programs.

Electric Power 2014, slated to take place April 1–3 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La., serves the power generation market. Known for its executive-level conference content, Electric Power boasts nine dedicated tracks of programming focused on developments across all fuel sectors. The conference, which examines the full range of co-generation options and covers new technology, is complemented by an exhibit show floor featuring more than 250 solution providers. Electric Power co-locates with the PRB Coal Users’ Group, the Plant Management Institute, Women in Power, and the Combined Cycle Users’ Group.

RETECH 2014 is scheduled to kick off Sept. 3–5 at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, Md., just south of Washington, D.C. RETECH brings together key stakeholders from the vertical markets within renewable energy — wind, solar, waste, geothermal, biofuels, hydro, etc. — with the financiers, insurers, policy makers, utility companies and users of renewable energy technology. RETECH’s mission, organizers say, is to lead the charge in project development, financing and implementation of renewable energy technology into the larger power generation ecosystem.

“This strategic alliance capitalizes on our respective strengths,” said Don Pazour, CEO of Access Intelligence. “Hannover Fairs is the U.S. subsidiary of Deutsche Messe, the largest organizer of energy shows in the world, and this new alliance will allow them to better serve the U.S. market through our two flagship energy events — Electric Power and RETECH.”

Larry Turner, CEO of Hannover Fairs USA, commented on the importance of the deal. “With Germany’s long-standing leadership in automation and renewable energy technology, transported globally through the extensive network of Deutsche Messe, the partnership between Hannover Fairs and Access Intelligence will contribute significantly to the international knowledge transfer and best practice exchange in these important aspects of our economies.”

According to Turner, the focus of Hannover Fairs USA’s cooperation at Electric Power 2014 will hinge on several key power infrastructure topics: utility control solutions, distribution automation, grid integration of renewable, grid storage and demand-side management targeting utility managers, project developers, TSOs, commercial and industrial end users and regulators. At RETECH, on the other hand, Turner said Hannover Fairs USA will be looking to showcase emerging technologies that exist along the complete value chain of renewable energy generation, transmission and distribution from around the globe.

Krister Sandvoss, director of Hannover Fairs International, was on hand during the announcement of the partnership here on opening day at RETECH 2013. In his remarks to attendees at the general session, Sandvoss cited the synergies between the two organizations in addition to Hannover Fairs’ experience in this arena. “We can bring a lot of expertise,” he stated, citing the popularity and widespread use of wind power in Germany. The success of similar, energy-related events that Hannover Fairs sponsors in Brazil and Turkey (i.e., Hannover Messe Energy) also fueled interest in expanding collaborative efforts here in the United States.
