Gamesa recently also signed a contract with Longyuan for the first 25 G97-2.0 MW wind turbines to be delivered in China.

The contracts coincide with the start-up of manufacturing of the G97-2.0 MW wind turbine model in China. The company currently has 6 manufacturing plants in Tianjin and Jilin provinces and employs 1200 people in the country.

By September 2011, China accounted for 21% of the company's total sales.
