The Massachusetts Supreme Court has ruled that it was right by the state's public utilities department to deny a motion filed by the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound, against a 2009 PPA with the National Grid, according to Legal Newswire.
The National Grid has agreed to purchase half of the Cape Wind offshore wind farm's output – originally at US$0.207/kWh with an increase of 3.5% every year over 15 years. The new contract sets the starting price to US$0.187/kWh with the same escalation, although with a price cap of US$0.193/kWh.
