The partial loan guarantees to Desert Sunlight 250 LLC and Desert Sunlight 300 LLC will support the Desert Sunlight Project, which could lead to over 550 construction jobs.

The solar photovoltaic (PV) project is being developed and operated by Desert Sunlight Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of First Solar Inc.

The solar project will be located on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management in eastern Riverside County, California, and will utilise approximately 8.8 million cadmium telluride thin-film solar photovoltaic (PV) modules from First Solar.

Phase I will generate 300 MW of power, which will be sold to Pacific Gas & Electric Company, while Phase II will generate 250 MW of power for Southern California Edison.
