Gehrlicher Solar Italia Srl has sold five solar photovoltaic (PV) parks totalling 10.4 MWp to White Owl Capital AG.

By Kari Williamson

The solar PV parks, developed by Gehrlicher Solar AG's Italian subsidiary, are all located in northern Italy.

The Cremosano (2.6 MWp), Dovera (1.3 MWp) and Palazzo Pignano (3.6 MWp) solar parks are situated in Lombardy, while the Polesine 2 (1.6 MWp) and Polesine 3 (1.3 MWp) solar parks are situated in the Emilia-Romagna region. They were all connected to the electricity grid before feed-in tariffs were reduced with effect from 1 September 2011.

The solar PV parks were developed using 133,680 solar modules from First Solar and 15 inverters from SMA. The systems are expected to produce a total of around 12.2 GWh annually.

Dr Tim P. Jungblut, Vice President Ground Mounted Systems at Gehrlicher Solar AG and member of the executive board at Gehrlicher Solar Italia S.r.l, says: "We continue to see great sales potential in Italy beyond 1 September – for both ground-mounted and roof-mounted systems as well as for our wholesale business."
