Solar charged cars and bikes in Germany

Kyocera Corporation has supplied solar modules for a carport roofing installation for charging electric cars and bikes in southern Germany.

The system, which was designed and installed by BLU“e” Solar Group GmbH, consists of 248 of Kyocera's 215 W solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, producing a total of 53.32 kW.

Kyocera has previously supplied solar modules for the Solar Grove car park shading in San Diego, California.

In Japan, Kyocera has introduced the Solar Cycle Station for charging electric bicycles; as well as the Eco-Shell co-developed with Sekisui Jushi Corporation – a multi-purpose solar-powered shelter for use in public places.
