The 96-cell E20 solar PV panels are available in 333 W and 327 W models for rooftop installations and feature SunPower's 22.4% efficient Maxeon cell technology.

The E20 series also feature positive power tolerance rating and comprehensive inverter compatibility, SunPower says.

"With the E20 series solar panels, SunPower has once again broken a world record for efficiency," says SunPower CEO Tom Werner.

The prototype for the E20 was developed with funds from the US Department of Energy (DoE) under its Solar America Initiative.

The E20 efficiency rating was confirmed by the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL).
