Suzlon wins 100 MW Indian turbine order

Orient Green has placed an order for 48 of Suzlon's wind turbines.

Orient Green Power Company, which is based in Chennai in India, placed the order for 48 units of manufacturer Suzlon’s new S95 2.1 MW wind turbine. The order is valued at Rs 650 Cr (approx £90m).

50.4 MW of the order is scheduled to come online in Gujarat by May 2012, and the remaining 50.4 MW in Karnataka by June 2012.

Tulsi Tanti, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suzlon Group, says: “[Orient Green] is one of India’s leading renewable independent power producers, and this order clearly underscores Suzlon’s value proposition as an integrated solutions provider in what is a rapidly growing sector.”
