Abengoa to build 100 MW of CSP in Spain

Abengoa has completed financing on two 50 MW concentrating solar power (CSP) plants in Spain.

The CSP plants are to be built on the Castilla-La Mancha Solar Platform in the province of Ciudad Real, Spain.

Abengoa says it expects the CSP plants to come into operation in the second half of 2012.

Abengoa CEO Manuel Sánchez Ortega, says: “It is very satisfying to have the continuing trust of financial instutions in our projects in a much more selective economic environment. The start of construction on these two plants will strengthen our presence in Castilla-La Mancha and we continue to fulfil the plans that we have outlines to investors.”

Financing for the CSP projects was provided by the banks Banco Santander, Banesto, Banka, the ICO, KFW, Helaba and Banif.
