Statkraft builds wind farms Scotland and Sweden

Statkraft is investing £250 million in two wind farms in Scotland and Sweden with a combined output of up to 152.5 MW.

The 52.5 MW Baillie Wind Farm in Scotland will be built by Baillie Wind Farm Ltd, owned by Baillie Wind Farm Holdings Ltd in which Statkraft has an 80% share.

The 21 wind turbines are expected to produce 170 GWh annually when completed in 2013 in the Caithness region of Scotland. The wind farm represents an investment of £60m.

In Sweden, Statkraft SCA Vind AB, which is owned 60% by Statkraft and 40% by Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget SCA, will build the 100 MW Mörttjärnberget Wind Farm.

Based in Bräcke in Jämtland County, the wind farm is expected to produce 280 GWh annually once it is completed in 2013.
