Silfab Ontario and First Nation build 5 MW solar farm

Silfab Ontario Inc will build a 5 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) system consisting of 20,410 solar modules for Alderville First Nation in Southeastern Ontario, Canada.

The ground mounted solar PV system, will use the Silfab SLA245M modules made from 60 mono-crystalline silicon cells produced in Ontario.

The solar PV farm will consist of a combination of fixed mounted racks and single axis trackers, and is expected to be operational by November 2011 with an estimated production of approximately 5.7 GWh per year.
