The university’s Micro- and Nanotechnology Research Group achieved the increased efficiency for the crystalline silicone solar PV cells through minimising losses.

The next step will be to develop procedures to facilitate large-scale production.

So far, the record for solar cells conversion efficiency for crystalline silicon is 24.7%, set by researchers at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
