Gamesa still no. 1 wind turbine provider in Spain

Gamesa maintains its number one position in the Spanish wind market with a 2010 market share of 50.18% – an increase from 2009’s 34.4%.

Gamesa installed 760.7 MW in 2010, and in terms of accumulated installed capacity at the end of 2010, Gamesa had a total of 9846.34 MW – 47.6% of the total wind capacity installed in Spain, according to the Spanish Wind Energy Association (AEE).

Total accumulated installed wind energy capacity in Spain by the end of 2010 was over 20.6 GW – ahead of Spain’s 2005-2010 Renewable Energy Plan, which stipulated just over 2.1 GW.
