The windfarm project lead by Markbygden Vind AB is estimated to cost SEK50-55 billion, and is expected to produce 12 TWh a year.

The area is said to have very good wind conditions, and with a scarce population, little opposition is expected. The area also sees the crossing of three major power lines, which would make grid connection fairly easy, according to Markbygden Vind AB.

Markbygden Vind AB is 75% owned by Svevind Holding AB and 25% owned by German Enercon.
