Vestas supplies 228 MW of wind turbines to Romania

Vestas will supply a total of 76 units of the V90-3.0 MW wind turbine for two projects in Romania.

The first wind turbines are expected to be installed by the end of 2009. The order has been placed by EDP Renováveis, but according to Vestas, the name of the project cannot be disclosed “at the customer's request.”

Hans Jørn Rieks, President of Vestas Central Europe, says: “By the end of 2008, Romania had a total installed wind capacity of 76 MW (World Market Update 2008, BTM Consult). This is an important project for the Romanian market, and together with EDP Renováveis we look forward to contributing to expanding the wind capacity in this country.”

The contract comprises supply, installation, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution, as well as a five-year service agreement.
