Individuals, organisations, and NGO’s who have made significant advancements in the field of renewable energy and sustainability can compete for a first prize of US$1.5 million. An additional US$350,000 will be awarded to up to two additional finalists.
Candidate submissions will be received until midnight (PT), 8 October 2010.
The third annual Zayed Future Energy Prize will be awarded in 18 January 2011 during the World Future Energy Summit 2011 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, 17-20 January 2011.
Submissions are judged on three primary criteria:
- Innovation: proof of cutting-edge concepts and solutions that solve today’s energy and sustainability challenges.
- Long-term vision: demonstration of ability to scale through a commercially viable or sustainable business model.
- Leadership: championing their vision in order to advance clean energy and sustainable solutions.
