Toyota’s US operation reports that its Highlander Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle – Advanced (FCHV-adv) sport utility vehicle achieved an estimated range of 431 miles (693 km) on a single tank of compressed hydrogen, in a recent collaborative range and fuel economy field evaluation. This represents an average fuel economy of 68.3 miles/kg (approximate mpg equivalent), and was achieved during a recent day-long trip down the southern California coast.
