UK government slashes RO PV support by 20%

The UK government has reduced the support for solar PV under the Renewables Obligation (RO) – the support mechanism for large renewables projects from 2013-2017 - by 20%.

Cofely, a GDF SUEZ company, has completed the first phase of the Leicester District Energy Scheme, enabling thousands of homes, as well as council-owned and other buildings in Leicester, to be provided with environmentally friendly energy.

Weltec Biopower, Methaneo to collaborate on 500 kW biogas plant in France

Construction work on the facility will begin in January 2013, and the plant is to go live and starting feeding electricity into the French grid as early as July 2013.
